[KMME Mentees Stories] Diving into entrepreneurship

Fely Jean Pacris had a vision to start her own business so in 2014, she started her own resort with only five rooms.

KMME has helped her business when it comes to the technical knowledge and legal aspects of entrepreneurship. Concepts from the business model canvas greatly helped MASCOOP Resort in planning the company’s sustainability.

MASCOOP Resort now has introduced products made from banana and other tropical fruits. It was also able to increase its sales by more than 10%. In addition, MASCOOP Resort was granted a one-million-peso worth of loan by the Department of Labor and Employment. Department of Trade and Industry also gave the business equipment for cacao and coffee. haha

For Fely, KMME is an avenue that helps progress the nation’s state. “Ang KMME ay one-a-kind encounter para isulong ang masaganang kabuhayan,” she shared.

Right now, the resort is planning to improve its services and establish market awareness. Trainings in food preparation, housekeeping, marketing and finances are being considered to provide quality service to its customers.


The Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) is a joint program of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo and Department of Trade and Industry which aims to help Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs scale up their business through weekly coaching and mentoring by business owners and practitioners on different functional areas of entrepreneurship to be held in Negosyo Centers nationwide.
